Race Highlights

Kicking off with that Friday feeling's race highlights , The first race to look at today is the 18.36 Maiden Juvenile C EB race and yet again we are treated to a full field of fresh horses only one seen on a racetrack before this occasion, Ultimately it was one of the newcomers who went onto land this one Nicky Tam the winner under Heinz Huber's guidance ...

The gates flung open and first to show its presence was Buds Of May on the inside of the field where he was well drawn Nicky Tam stalking his progress all the while in second and the nicely named Smelly Toenail following on in third , Up to the 200m pole and it was all change up front Nicky Tam burst through to take it up Smelly Toenail trying to go with but just didn't have the speed and Lucky Lucker staying on for pressure to take third , Best performance of this race had to be Hells Prince a decent fifth under Kirsten Werner and more to come from this one in future races no doubt.

Next up the 18.56 Progress C Gr2 EB racea field of twelve horses this time with a nice pot to share to the winner and placers of £38.91 , It was Bigboysteve who shot and scored with Shoot For Glory taking this one by a length under expert handling in the form of Charlie Saxon beating Collerton Cyride into second and its stable companion Tactical Racer into third it was Tactical Racer who performed the best in third under Ian Murphy's poor handling.

All lined up and they where off and Roman Warrior in true Gladiator style took charge of the pace setting and the lead early on and maintained it until about the last two hundred meters and then fading badly being swallowed up by most of the field , Shoot For Glory was boxed in and waiting for a gap and as soon as the gap came he popped through and charged on strongly quickly skipping clear of the field , a very close affair for the minor honors and Collerton Cyride and Tactical Racer did very well to get there heads in front for the minor honors.

Finally on to the 19.24 Special Allowance 3y CF Gr2 a small field of seven this time and G2 Statistic adding to the winning stats and living up to his name again by taking this one by over half a length with Wayne Bailey in the saddle seeing off Kieron Doyle in second on Welcome Rest and Yasmin Chua in third on Northern Sands , Weight looked to be the only thing to scupper the second place horses chances as he received good handling but failed to take the win , the well weighted Up The Lorry in fourth perhaps could of been a bigger threat with better handling.

Under starters orders and there off and early pace came from Up The Lorry who bolted out from the stalls along with Northern Sands Tracking in second and Welcome Rest further back into second , They get to the final bend and into the straight they came and still up front Up The Lorry beginning to get tired though and Northern Sands applying the pressure and eventually getting in front with just under 300m left to travel shortly after getting his head on front he is well and truly collared by G2 Statistic who receives a whip from his jockey and quickly plows through on the inside rail and up to the line to score well.

Claimers

Onto todays claimers and there was a fair few £13.60 claims to be had today unfortunately none of them being claimed much to there would be sellers disgust I'm sure but winners came in the form of Boronia , Colosso Magnifico , Happiniess Stan , and Disaster Looming.

Next up the £6.80 claims Surftnturf catching the eye claiming 3 out of the only 5 claims made for the day , Claiming Four Minute Mile who won its claimer today Demetrio and the 2nd out of three Corney , Other claimed horses where Burn Rubber and Thousand Mile.

Possible Top claim missed out on was No Need in the 9.10 claimer , Pretty sure that this horse could be very competitive at the trip if kept to claimers maybe not so in normal stakes races but would definatly be worth a shot for such a small claim price.

Class D Highlights

Every article I pick out the best Class D race to highlight for the day and todays choice had to be the 06.45 Class D 3yCF First Instance Race there was three instances in total but this was the first and by far the best Prosit was the winner of a full 14 strong field beating Wooow Factor and Stemp into second and third places/

1400m ahead of them and as soon as the gates flew open Daves Darling D showed its intent by hustling for the lead Zip Gun took over heading into the final bend and into the home straight and it looked as though it would be between those two as they skipped a little away from the field , This until Prosit's jockey used the nitrous oxide or whatever this horse had hidden under its hood and quickley cut them down upto the line and went on to score in very good style , Impressive!

Summary And Round Up

I had fun reviewing todays races some very good finishes made by some of the horses and its always good to see some fresh hooves on the track, I love seeing horses come like a train from off the pace.

G2 Stable Of The Day

Every article I pick a Stable of the day based on there performance in the days racing and this week...

Grade 2 stable of the day On The Bridle with a decent strike ratio to his entries today and because I didn't want to award the same trainer the award twice in a week , Two very nice wins and decent pots made the choice quite easy so a very well done to you mate keep up the good work!
