The Weekly Tipping Competition On Raceclubs

The Weekly Tipping Competition On Raceclubs

Week 32

A total of fifty-two stables entered this weeks competition with some high priced bets, and great excitement promised throughout the week. It was also the final week of the month meaning that all prize-funds would be paid out after this week and the Monthly Price winner would also be chosen.

Monday

Forty-two of the tippers decided to place their bets today as we began another very hectic Monday. There were plenty of hot races about with the third race of the day attracting the most attention. The 1000m sprint involved two great runners in Emily Grace and Septima Zenobia who were both stuck at short prices, the field was only four strong and the other two runners, Striking Cheetah and Perfect Dark, had been written off by Ladbrokes as high priced outsiders.

The bets went either the way of Emily Grace or Setima Zenobia then but we saw the surprise of the night when Striking Cheetah won from start to finish to claim victory at 16/1. Bad Cat Barn had staked 100 on the Liveoak Stables horse whilst Appleyard Estate (who had four other bets that failed today) had staked 20, and they both jumped up the leaderboard after the win; with bad Cat Barn taking the lead. Heinz moved into second between these two as their bet on Kiss A Prince scored at 4/5.

Aside from the leading Bad Cat Barn the scoring was pretty small though as a massive thirty-one stables dropped out of the competition with tips awaiting from another ten trainers.

Tuesday

Green Dale was one of the many stables to go ‘all in” today and they chose their own horse I’m in Trouble, telling us why they chose to give it that name when they placed the bet “[it was] named after the wife came into the room with me scrambling to log off after a dip in the sales ring”. Money was also big for Mayday Madrigals and One Way Only in that race but the victory went the way of Wednesdays Varadi in the end and Bad Cat Barn was the only one to foresee this although their stake was small and their return on the 6/4 winner wasn’t very impressive.

What was impressive was Heinz, who moved from a short second to a massive lead at the top after their risked everything on 6/1 shot The Bursar who stormed home in the fourth race of the day. They were the only ones to back the young colt who claimed the biggest bet of the day and gave Heinz the lead they deserved. Seven more stables dropped out of the competition as the leaderboard began to look bare.

Wednesday

The third day of betting was a very odd one indeed and one that destroyed the leaderboard. Huge prices of 11/2, 20/1, 17/2, 9/2 and 12/1 threw the bets out of whack and not a single stable hit on lucky as best explained by competition manager Jim on the night of the action “Wednesdays results provided a night of shocking results for the tippers and no tip of the night as not one of the tipsters tonight showed a profit, the favourites in the betting markets were no where to be seen on the results post as a few outsiders stormed home”.

Heinz stayed top with Bad Cat Barn still in second as seven stables dropped out of what was already a thin leaderboard. Only Bonnybrook Farm was left to tip and there were only six stables on the board, with four of them on less points than when they started.

Thursday

Day four was shockingly quiet as only four bets came in from three different stables. October Madness, Audi Man, and Thechoosenone were three of the tippers struggling on amounts lower than the 200 points they started with and they were all eager to get a jump on that table today.

Future Reflection was up against Public Enemy No1 in a battle of the beasts and whilst two of the four bets favoured Future Reflection it was Public Enemy No1 who claimed victory and knocked October Madness and Audi Man out. Thechoosenone on the other hand had gone ‘all in’ on Old Devil Moon and they were saved when the horse won the first race at 5/1, shifting Thechoosenone from the depths of debt to second in the table.

Friday

Things began to pick up on Friday as the guys at the top staked some big bets. Heinz had three bets placed with a total risk of 1100 but none of the bets paid off and they slipped down the table. Luck was on the side of Bad Cat Barn though as they leapfrogged the former leaders after a fantastic 570 NAP on Ron’s Princess who won the final race of the day at 11/4.

Thechoosenone added a small amount to their total when a 20 point bet on St Racer 040 paid off in the first race of the day and the stable in the green silks stayed in third. Gold Runners remained in fourth with only 100 points (and three bets left to place) whilst Bonnybrook Farm dropped out of the running.

Saturday

The final day was tense as the four remaining stables weighed up the options of betting and risking a run for the lead or holding off their bet and hoping to keep their place, there was also the monthly prize of $50 to be handed out at the end of todays play although with a score of 11.000 to beat, it would take something special for anyone to take that today.

Heinz was the first to show their hands when they placed a very early bet of $3000 on Crank 420 in the fourth race of the day, this was followed by hours of silence before Thechoosenone dropped a 1400 bet on Bravo Indeed in the third race of the day. Leaders Bad Cat Barn decided to watch this one out whilst Gold Runners were disqualified before the start of play due to not staking five bets throughout the week.

Only two race results went up tonight as eyes were on the most important races, and Bad Cat Barn had something to cheer about when neither Heinz nor Thechoosenone succeeded with their bets. Thechoosenone finished in second whilst Heinz took third, only these three remained in the competition at the end of play.

Fickflucker picked up the monthly prize of $50 thanks to their 11.000 score in just one week, and they also topped the Seasonal Standings which were published tonight and show Fickflucker ahead of Lejolla in second, Al Mighty in third and this weeks winner Bad Cat Barn in fourth.
